United Way of Metro Chicago
Jackie Rosa is a lifelong Chicagoan with nearly two decades of experience in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors. She brings a breadth of experience, including equitable grantmaking, place-based investment, and community and civic engagement.
As Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for United Way of Metro Chicago, Jackie leads growth and strategy for United Way’s public policy and programming efforts, plus the operations of 211 Metro Chicago, a free 24/7 health and social services helpline for Cook County residents.
Previously at United Way of Metro Chicago, Jackie led philanthropic and strategic investments in 18 communities across the city's South and West Sides, including suburban Cook County. She mobilized the corporate and philanthropic sector, nonprofits, small businesses, and community leaders around common community goals to build a more substantial region.
As Deputy Mayor of Community Engagement for the Office of the Mayor, City of Chicago, Jackie brought her passion for multi-sector collaboration and authentic community engagement to inform, create solutions, and leverage partnerships to address the city’s most pressing issues. This included overseeing the city-wide budget engagement process with a transparent and inclusive approach that informed funding decisions for the city budget based on community recommendations. Jackie also leveraged public-private partnerships to support critical investments and funding toward the New Arrivals mission, including resettlement efforts for 40,000 migrants.
Jackie was the recipient of the 2016 Hispanics in Philanthropy Next Generation Fellowship and holds a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from DePaul University.
