Barbara Saverino

Barbara Saverino, Senior Director of Public Policy and Advocacy, works to advance federal policies that create thriving communities and build advocacy engagement capacity in the United Way network. Prior to joining United Way Worldwide, Barbara was the Director of Public Policy and External Affairs at United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, where she led the organization’s public policy and advocacy efforts as well as strengthening and building positive and effective partnerships. She also served as Public Policy Chair for the United Way of Pennsylvania Board. Barbara joined the United Way network after serving as Vice President at the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. Barbara has a B.S. in International Relations from Drexel University. She serves as Vice President of the Northern Liberties Neighbors Association and volunteers at her church’s Narcotics Anonymous program.
