Kera Mashek is an award-winning and EMMY nominated former broadcast journalist turned nonprofit communications professional. Kera's nonprofit career started with Harvesters—The Community Food Network, Kansas City's Feeding America food bank, before transitioning to United Way of Greater Kansas City in 2022, where she now serves as Senior Director of Communications, leading all strategic communications, public & media relations, direct mail campaigns, storytelling, and oversees all donor communications including newsletters, print, and website communications, as well as executing paid media and in-kind media partnerships. She has received numerous honors from Kansas City's NonProfit Connect and the Greater Kansas City Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, including being named the 2024 Roger Yarrington PR Professional of the Year. Kera also actively volunteers with her church, Lead to Read KC, and Harvesters.
