Maryam Kiefer, MSW, is the Director of Public Policy at United Way of Greater Cleveland. She has over 10 years of experience working in public policy and legislative, budgetary, and regulatory advocacy at the local, state, federal, and international levels. Maryam has advocated for advancements of health and human service programs and funding including Medicaid, SNAP, TANF, and mental health and substance use programs. She has also managed and evaluated community-based social service programs.
Maryam received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Fordham University and Master of Social Work from Hunter College, City University of New York. Moreover, Maryam has taught Contemporary Social Welfare Policy at Fordham University's Graduate School of Social Service.
