United Way of Greater Houston
Aarti is the Assistant Vice President, Community Outreach 211 at the United Way of Greater Houston. In this capacity, she is responsible for leading and further developing a comprehensive operation of the 2-1-1 Texas/United Way Helpline and setting a strategic direction for current and future efforts of the department. Aarti leads a team of 80+ professional staff working collaboratively across the entire organization, coordinating community outreach, marketing and resource development, and leading the 211 response during major disasters including participating in emergency management efforts.

Aarti is a proud Houston resident for nearly two decades and has been a part of Houston’s non-profit ecosystem for much of that time. Before stepping into her current role, she served as Vice President, Center for Resiliency at a Houston area non-profit where she led the vision, strategy, and execution for a group of programs focused on mental and behavioral health, social services, community navigation, and disaster preparedness, response and recovery for refugee and immigrant communities. Prior to that, Aarti served as Director of Counseling & Client Services at another Houston area non-profit organization that provided services to South Asian survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

Aarti holds an M.A. in Human Resource Management & Labor Relations from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai, India, and an M.Ed. in Counseling from the University of Houston. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, skiing, SCUBA diving, and taking active vacations with her family - she is an avid food & culture traveler.
