ABOUT THE EVENT

The Advocacy Forum and Capitol Hill Day is United Way Worldwide’s signature public policy and advocacy event. Leaders from across the network will gather for policy updates, advocacy training and engagement with policymakers, and to share best practices for policy work. This year, we emphasize strategies for navigating today’s policy environment and highlight the importance of policy as partnership.

Local United Ways, 211s, and our partners will walk away with actionable insights on federal, state, and local advocacy strategies, a deeper understanding of federal and state issues, and practical tips for engaging elected officials and policymakers. In addition, attendees will network with colleagues from across the country.

Who Should Attend
The 2025 Advocacy Forum and Capitol Hill Day is designed for local United Way staff, local United Way CEOs, local United Way board members and volunteers, 211 Network leaders and Women United staff and members.

What To Expect
Attendees will have the opportunity to build and strengthen relationships with federal lawmakers and share the extensive impact United Way has on their constituencies and communities. Programming is designed for both seasoned advocates and those new to advocacy, creating meaningful opportunities to engage with policies that affect our network and the communities we serve—establishing United Way as a trusted voice in policy discussions.

Attendees can expect to walk away knowing how to:

  • Craft effective advocacy strategies that drive mission impact, optimize resource utilization, and engage individuals and partners.
  • Network, learn, and share knowledge with other United Ways and 211s on public policy issues and program models.
  • Cultivate relationships with policymakers to advance local, state, and federal priorities.
